Hello Eagle families,
We have a lot of great things happening at Ernestown Intermediate. This morning we had a great presentation from Dan Moser from Gould Lake regarding summer programming, see the link for more information. We have two field trips currently up on School Day for families to register for: the Boys and Girls Club Robotics Lab trip as well as the schoolwide trip to the Kingston Frontenac’s game. Inside this newsletter, you’ll find important updates, and ways to stay connected as we move through November. Families can expect to see Elementary Progress Reports go home next week on Thursday ahead of Friday’s PA Day.
Every School Day Counts!
Regular attendance is the key to student success. Being in school every day helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, develop responsibility, and stay on track for future opportunities. Consistent attendance also allows teachers and educational assistants to provide the best support for each student, creating a positive and connected classroom environment.
- How families can help:
- Talk positively with your student about why daily attendance matters.
- Keep absences for illness only.
- Schedule appointments outside school hours whenever possible. If an appointment falls during the day, bring your child back to school afterward.
Together, let’s make attendance a priority—because every school day truly counts!
Grade 8 Grad Photos–Next Friday
Grade 8 graduation photos will be taken on Friday, November 21 in Room 213. Bring your best smiles!
Please note: Even if students do not order individual photos, they will still be included in the Grade 8 composite, which every student receives free of charge.
Ernestown Intermediate Trip to see the Frontenacs–November 19
In order to provide a variety of experiences for our students in Physical Education, the Grade 7/8 classes will have the opportunity to attend the Frontenac’s School Day Game at Slush Puppy Place on Wednesday November 19th, at 10:30AM.

Included in the cost are the tickets to the game, a hot dog and drink and the bus. Students may also bring a bag lunch, as well as any water and snacks that they would like for the day. Please complete the permission forms on School Day.

Important Information for Families Regarding the Student Census
The See Yourself in Limestone Student Census 2025 will be taking place in November. The Student Census is an optional survey for students by the board to learn more about academic achievement, experiences at school, and identities. This survey helps the board understand students’ backgrounds; find and address problems in the education system; and create better learning environments for all students. We invite all students in Grades 4 to 12 to take part in the survey.
Important information for families:
- Students in Grades 4 to 12 will do the online survey in class. The survey will be sent to students’ email addresses.
- Student Census Week will be from November 24 to 28 in schools.
- A copy of the survey is available online
- You can choose that your student(s) not do the survey (opt out).
The Student and Family Guide is available on the Student Census webpage. Click here to read important information on why we do the Student Census and what we do with the data; a survey preview with a question guide; and frequently asked questions, including detailed information on privacy and confidentiality and how to opt your student out.
If you have questions you can ask Ms. Hamilton, email studentcensus@limestone.on.ca, or call 613-389-2294 and leave a message. Your voice matters, and together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive school community.
You’re Invited to Ernestown’s Holiday Market–Coming in December
We’re excited to share that Ms. Ohayon will be organizing our school’s very first Holiday Market!
Here are a few ways you can help support this exciting event:
- Help spread the word about the market within our community.
- Share the opportunity with friends or family members who may be interested in becoming a vendor.
- Let us know if you have connections to local businesses that might want to donate to the event.
- Come out and join us on Saturday, December 13. It will be a fun and festive day for all!
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Ohayon directly at ohayons@limestone.on.ca. We can’t wait to celebrate the season together! Please see the attached flyer for all the details.
Data Verification Sheets
We continue to look for Data Verification Sheets for all students which outline student information. They were handed out to all students at the beginning of the year, and if you still have a copy, please pass it along to the main office. Alternatively, if you need another copy, please contact the school main office.
A Message from Southeast Health
As many as one in four children has a vision problem serious enough to impact their learning and development, including language delays. Regular eye exams can identify health problems and conditions such as a turned eye or lazy eye. These conditions may be treated if they are found early in a child's life.
Take your child for a free eye exam. Yearly eye exams with an eye doctor (optometrist) are free for children (zero to 19 years of age) with an Ontario health card. See link for more info.
In Ontario, health care providers do not automatically report immunizations to their local public health agency. Parents and guardians are responsible for reporting their child's immunizations to KFL&A Public Health to keep records up to date as per Immunization of School Pupils Act standards. See link for more info.
Immunization reporting
