Bingo Fundraising: Thank You for Your Support!

Bingo fundraising has become one of the most effective and popular ways to support our school’s programs. Proceeds from bingo events help reduce the costs of student busing for field trips, extracurricular events, and special academic programs. This ensures that all students can participate in enriching experiences without financial barriers. Our athletic programs rely on quality equipment, uniforms, and travel opportunities. Bingo fundraising provides a steady source of financial support that helps keep our sports teams competitive, safe, and fully equipped throughout the year. All funds raised through bingo go directly back into student programming—whether it’s academic clubs, arts, technology initiatives, or wellness activities. Thank you, to all of our bingo volunteers who give their time, energy, and effort to support this source of fundraising!

Limestone District School Board Chair and Vice-Chair Elected for 2025-2026

<img src="/images/3b73f535-6db0-57a4-bb4f-a5bb6232f53e?fingerprint=ppb20251217013553" alt="" width="349" height="452" style="width:349px;height:452px;display:inline-block"> <img src="/images/02ea62dd-f2f2-5bdf-8bf4-95704c83d5d1?fingerprint=ppb20251217013025" alt="" width="349" height="452" style="width:349px;height:452px;display:inline-block">Chair Karen McGregor (left) and Vice-Chair Tiffany Lloyd Limestone District School Board (LDSB) Chair Karen McGregor was re-elected to the role, and Trustee Tiffany Lloyd was elected to Vice-Chair at the Annual Meeting of the Board November 19, 2025. Trustees elect a Chair and Vice-Chair each year of their four-year mandate. Chair McGregor, who has been Chair since June 2025, represents LDSB schools in the Townships of Central Frontenac, Addington Highlands, and North Frontenac.  “Trustees play a critical role as a bridge between the communities we serve and the Board, ensuring that families have a direct channel to raise local concerns, seek guidance and influence decisions that affect their children's education,” says Chair McGregor. “I am honoured to be re-elected as Chair for the coming year, to work with a Board of Trustees determined to make a positive difference in the lives of every student in our district.” Vice-Chair Lloyd represents LDSB schools in the Town of Greater Napanee. "I’m honoured to serve as Vice-Chair, and I’m grateful for my colleagues’ confidence,” says Vice-Chair Lloyd. “I look forward to working together as we support our schools, listen to our communities, and make decisions that truly benefit the students and families we serve." Trustees will be selecting the committees they wish to serve on next week at the Nominations Committee Meeting Monday, November 24, 2025.

PAC Meeting Minutes September 10

Ernestown Intermediate and Secondary School Parent Council6:30 p.m. In Attendance: five members, one teacher, and school Principal 1.    Welcome & Introductions – Marnie 2.    Agenda Approval 3.    PAC Committee Vote - Chair/Secretary – No one has put their name forward for the Chair position. Will review the bylaws for the process if no chair is elected. Another meeting will be held Sep.29th 6:30 for a vote. (Have to have a new chair, if that's the chosen option, by Oct.2nd) recruitment message to go out to parents.Future Considerations. – Need to advertise for a student rep to join the PAC, as well as an indigenous rep. 4.    Principals report - Tyler: Welcome Back - lots of new staff, enrollment is the lowest it's been but Sept has seen many new registrations so far this week, the projected population is set to increase - There is a grant being put together to put in basketball hoops, pickleball courts, etc - More trees set to be planted than were cut down for the new construction out front, there is discussion of what to do with the current plaques that were by those trees. Curriculum Matters - BCIP, IMPACT is now running all year, several field trips on the horizon B&G Club STEM, Leadership Camp, other subject-based activities. Co-curricular Events: sports - football, girl's basketball, jr boys volleyball, field hockey, golf, cross-country - upcoming KASSAA human rights presentation - Community Carousel Day and Picture Day Sep.24th - several clubs have begun again, chess, colours, mosaic). School Culture Matters - Grade forums upcoming, key points to discuss will be phones, driving, construction safety and goal setting - Good news gathering, Michelle Levesque collecting stories from teachers - Memory/Event Wall project - Terry Fox Day will be in October - Orange shirt day/National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Sep.30th - Swag is in - may be looking for more, t-shirts/decals. 5.    Teacher/Student Council Report - Rileigh Tilley: misc - 1st day went well - photo booth, swag, etc - upcoming Gr.9 day - upcoming Leadership camp 6.     Parent Involvement Council Update - Marnie: 1st meeting is scheduled for Oct.23rd. Oct.16th there is a Chairs workshop. 7.    PRO Funding Application Ideas - Everyone: skating event was a success last year. Recommendation to hold this event again this year. Group to consider any additional ideas for PRO grant funds. 8.    Welcome Baskets - Quinn/Shannon visited local agencies over the summer. Many donations received. PRO grant money was used to purchase local items as well. 9.    Bingo - We are in the process of reviewing and updating our volunteer list for Bingo fundraising.  If there are any members of School Council who are interested in volunteering with Bingo, please let Tyler know as soon as possible.  The money generated by this fundraising supports a wide range of activities, events, equipment, and opportunities for students, and it only works because you are involved.  Thank you, for considering this!  Next meeting - Sept.29th to hold vote for new Chair position Follow up on Sept 29th meeting:  In attendance, two SC members + Principal.  Despite outreach and advertising, no expressions of interest emerged.  In compliance with board Administrative Procedures, Principal (Tyler Wilson) will assume role of School Council chair.

Ernestown Secondary School - Weekly Update - November 21, 2025

Hello Eagle families, We have a lot of great things happening at Ernestown Intermediate.This morning we had a great presentation from Dan Moser from Gould Lake regarding summer programming, see the <a href="https://gouldlake.limestone.on.ca/" class="editor-link">link for more information</a>. We have two field trips currently up on School Day for families to register for: the Boys and Girls Club Robotics Lab trip as well as the schoolwide trip to the Kingston Frontenac’s game. Bring your best smiles!Please note: Even if students do not order individual photos, they will still be included in the Grade 8 composite, which every student receives free of charge.<h2 class="editor-heading-h2" dir="ltr">Ernestown Intermediate Trip to see the Frontenacs–November 19</h2>In order to provide a variety of experiences for our students in Physical Education, the Grade 7/8 classes will have the opportunity to attend the Frontenac’s School Day Game at Slush Puppy Place on Wednesday November 19th, at 10:30AM. The students will travel by bus, leaving Ernestown at 8:30 and will return in time for their regular buses. There is a cost of $30 for this trip. Included in the cost are the tickets to the game, a hot dog and drink and the bus. Students may also bring a bag lunch, as well as any water and snacks that they would like for the day.Please complete the permission forms on School Day.Gould Lake Programs–Summer Registration Open Earlier in the month, we had a visit from Gould Lake sharing about their summer programming. Registration will open for summer programming on December 8th. Choices at 7 Program Information

The Limestone District School Board's Choices at 7 programs offer opportunities for students entering Grade 7 to participate in a variety of unique learning environments. Depending on the availability of places in the programs, students currently in Grade 7 may also apply to join a program for their Grade 8 year. Dear Families,We are sharing the following letter from Southeast Public Health, which contains important information for families:<hr>Dear parents, guardians and staff:RE: First Influenza A Confirmed Case of the SeasonPlease be advised that Southeast Public Health (SEPH) has received laboratory confirmation of the first case of influenza A for the 2025-2026 season. We are providing this information so that you will be able to take steps to ensure the best protection possible for yourself and your family.Influenza causes mild to severe illness and can lead to serious health complications, even in healthy children and adults. Immunization is the best way to prevent influenza; even in years when there is a strain mismatch, the flu vaccine will still offer some protection. The influenza vaccine (flu shot) is available free of charge to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario who is 6 months of age and over. Contact your health-care provider or local pharmacy for your influenza vaccine if your family has not yet been immunized. For children under 5 years of age who cannot receive their immunization from their health-care provider, <a href="https://southeastph.ca/health-topics/respiratory-season-vaccines/" class="editor-link">Southeast Public Health is offering clinics</a>.Next to immunization, the single most important way to prevent the spread of infection is to clean hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers should only be used for children if they are assisted and should be stored out of reach of young children.The symptoms of influenza include:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">fever (greater than 38.0°C/100.4 °F)</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">dry cough</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">chills</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">headache</li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem">muscle aches</li><li value="6" class="editor-listitem">loss of appetite</li><li value="7" class="editor-listitem">sore throat</li><li value="8" class="editor-listitem">runny nose</li></ul> Young children may also experience nausea and vomiting with the above symptoms.If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home until they are fever-free and their symptoms have improved for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if they’ve had vomiting or diarrhea). Limestone and KCHC Launch Student Support Program Backed by Community Foundation Grant
