Hello Ernestown Intermediate & Secondary School families,
It's been a busy and wonderful few weeks around the school. Our intermediate soccer teams both placed at their recent LESSA tournaments, with the girls winning gold, and the boys winning silver! Way to go. As well, our senior students planned a fantastic team building afternoon for our grade 9s yesterday, with the help of Ms. Ellis.
Intermediate Open House (Grades 7-8)
On Tuesday, October 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m in the Intermediate hallway, we will host an Intermediate Open House for our grade 7 and 8 students and their families. This is a great opportunity for families to explore our school, meet staff, and learn more about their student's learnings at Ernestown Intermediate.
Early Reports (Grades 9-12)
Following today's Progress Reports, parent conferences are now open for booking on School Day on Thursday, October 22nd 2025 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Teachers will be ready to welcome our Eagle families on this night in the cafeteria. Teachers’ tables will be arranged alphabetically and additional staff will be available to assist with directions. Guidance counsellors, members of our student success team, and administrators will also be available this evening.
We are again using the School-Day program for interview sign-ups. If you have not already signed up for your account, you will need to do so before you can sign up for Parent Conference. If you're having trouble booking your appointments, please call our main office and ask Jaycee, Nicole, or Olivia for help with this.
Once you have a School-Day account:
- Go to the “Parent Conference” menu item on the left side.
- You will see the “Fall 2026 Parent Conference” Conference listed.
- Click on the date (October 22nd).
- Click on the times under each teacher that you wish to book. It will be helpful to have your student’s timetable showing the course codes with you to make sure you are seeing the correct courses/teachers.
- Once you are done, you can print a list of the appointments that you have made by clicking the button to the right called “Parent Conferences”
Interviews are limited to 5 minutes long and spaces are limited. If you require more time or are unable to attend, please contact the teacher directly via email (see our website) to make alternative arrangements.
You may change your bookings any time prior to the closing date, by re-visiting the School-Day website. We are pleased to offer you this opportunity to discuss your child’s progress at school, and we look forward to meeting you on this important evening.
Parent/Teacher Conferences (Grades 9-12)
We will also be hosting Parent/Teacher Conferences for our secondary students on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m in the cafeteria. Teachers will be ready to welcome our Eagle families and discuss student progress and learning over the first two months of learning.
As in previous years, we will be using School-Day for interview bookings, and sign-up information will be shared with families shortly. As well, Early Reports are going home for students in grades 9 and 10, and as needed for grade 11 or 12 students who may be struggling in their current course(s) on Friday, October 16th.
We appreciate the support and involvement of our Eagle families and look forward to seeing you at these events.

The characters in the musical are based on actual Gander residents and the stranded travelers they housed and fed. Students will also get to attend a Q+A with the cast and crew following the performance. Sign-up for this semester's drama students is in School Day.
