Hello Eagle families,
We have a lot of great things happening at Ernestown Intermediate. Today we hosted an Intermediate volleyball tournament for schools across LDSB, special thank you to Coach Lamarre, Coach Ohayon, and Coach Westendorp for their work with the team. A congratulations to the Girls' Volleyball team who played extremely well in their tournament at Queen's University. They came third overall in their division. Throughout November, we had a number of great field trips, including our visits to Boys and Girls Club Robotics Lab for an informative and engaging field trip, as well as the trip to the Frontenac’s game. In addition, Ms. Lamarre is leading her class through an exciting experiential learning program around building design to create a wooden bench, students are using mitre boxes, saws, and drills to complete their projects. Last week, Ms Ohayon's class did a Celebrations of the World Food Court in French class. Each student researched a holiday, found a recipe, and made a decoration. They each made their recipe and presented it in French to share with the class. They also used their decoration to decorate their station. Ms Kimmet's class did a Volume lab for Science class in the High School Lab. They used precise measuring techniques and scientific equipment to create a beautiful rainbow of colors.
Here are just a few updates taking us to the Winter Break:
Reminder: Dressing for Winter Recess
As the colder weather sets in, please ensure students come prepared for outdoor recess with hats, boots, gloves, and coats. We want all students to stay warm and safe during these chilly days. If your family needs support with winter wear, we have resources available. Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Hamilton directly for assistance. We appreciate your help in making sure students are dressed appropriately—recess can be very cold, and a sweater alone isn’t enough. As well, a continued reminder that the creek behind the field is off limits for students as it poses a safety risk. Thank you for your continued support!
