Hello Eagle Families,

It’s been an exciting few weeks at Ernestown! Winter sports are in full swing with hockey, Junior and Senior Girls’ Volleyball, and Junior and Senior Boys’ Basketball. We encourage our community to come out and cheer on our teams—check the KASSAA schedule for game details.

Our talented band has also been busy showcasing their skills across Loyalist, including a fantastic performance at the Amherstview Santa Claus Parade and a travelling concert tour to our feeder schools: Odessa Public School, Amherstview Public School, Bath Public School, and Fairfield Elementary School. Way to go, musicians! As well, some of our students attended the Level Up Career Fair.

Thank you–Bingo Fundraising

BINGO fundraising has become one of the most effective and popular ways to support our school’s programs.  Proceeds from BINGO events help reduce the costs of student busing for field trips, extracurricular events, and special academic programs. This ensures that all students can participate in enriching experiences without financial barriers.

Our athletic programs rely on quality equipment, uniforms, and travel opportunities. BINGO fundraising provides a steady source of financial support that helps keep our sports teams competitive, safe, and fully equipped throughout the year.

All funds raised through BINGO go directly back into student programming—whether it’s academic clubs, arts, technology initiatives, or wellness activities.  Thank you, to all of our BINGO volunteers who give their time, energy, and effort to support this source of fundraising!

You’re Invited to Ernestown’s Holiday Market–Next Saturday, Dec 13!

Here are a few ways you can help support this exciting event:

Looking Ahead–Exam Period is January 22nd to 28th

In the coming week weeks we will send out a schedule for Semester 1 exams, but in the meantime with the winter season approaching, we wanted to share with families how schools will adjust exam schedules in the event student transportation is canceled due to inclement weather. If buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, exams scheduled on that day will be rescheduled to the next exam day. Subsequent exams in the exam schedule will also be rescheduled to the next exam day.

Ernestown administration will communicate with families directly through email if the exam schedule is adjusted due to inclement weather and bus cancellations Information about researched exams will also be posted on school websites. It will be important for families to watch for communication in the event of inclement weather. Students are expected to be present and available to write exams during the entire exam period, from January 22 to January 28, 2026.

We understand that changes like these can cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate any potential inclement weather and its impact on Semester 1 exams. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our entire school community.

Every School Day Counts!

Regular attendance is the key to student success. Being in school every day helps students build a strong foundation of knowledge, develop responsibility, and stay on track for future opportunities. Consistent attendance also allows teachers and educational assistants to provide the best support for each student, creating a positive and connected classroom environment.

How families can help:

  • Talk positively with your student about why daily attendance matters.
  • Keep absences for illness only.
  • Schedule appointments outside school hours whenever possible. If an appointment falls during the day, bring your child back to school afterward.

Together, let’s make attendance a priority—because every school day truly counts!
